Summer Handbag

It's not a secret that I'm in complete need of a new handbag. I have been looking for months maybe close to a year.  This purchase seems like such an investment so I want to make sure I choose the right one.  That said - I'm committing myself to getting one this weekend. I think kate spade will definitely be where I find a winner such pretty colors:

Summer Lunch

One of my favorites and so so easy to make with just 3 simple ingredients: cubed watermelon, rough chopped basil and feta.  Mixed together and you have a fresh summer salad.

Weekend Recap

Pretty shower gift 

 Gorgeous sunset on the boat - we could see clear to NYC, one of the clearest nights I've ever seen.

We had some cheese and crackers on the boat while heading over to Long Island to go out to dinner.  This was the serving platter that DSG's Mom had gotten as a gift.  I thought it was just the cutest with the mini cleats used as handles - completely fits the nautical theme.  You can purchase these from this great little woodshop.  However, at $95 for this one specifically it's a bit out of reach for us to purchase.  If you simply purchase a cutting board within your price range, like this one and some fun hardware such as this, you can easily put this together for under $40 - a useful and creative gift for any dinner party host.

Modern Dining

Good news I may have a bit more say in my parents new house than I originally thought!  They've had my grandma's dining room set and were planning to use that in the new house but now my mom is thinking the house may be too modern for it, which is good A. because I get to help find a new set and B. I can hopefully finagle my way into getting my grandma's set - win win for me.  So I've been searching around for some modern dining inspiration.  I find myself drawn to the more rustic modern vibes - which I'm not sure is exactly the route my parents want since the new house is much more ocean/beachy vs countryside style.  Still I'm loving these big farm tables...

Wedding Wednesday

Thought I'd join in on a Wedding Wednesday post since my engagement pictures just came in last night!  Before we get to the pictures I have to give a sincere shout out to Eric Laurits - our photographer.  I feel the need to make up an adjective to describe his work - hollymollycraztastic - yea he's that good and DSG and I are not the most camera friendly people.  Eric made us feel completely comfortable during the shoot and he is such a fun, easy and down-to earth person to work with, I'd recommend him to anyone.  I was amazed with each photo and it was so hard to go through and choose which ones to feature.  After our together session, I am so excited that he’ll be taking our wedding pictures as well.  I can't imagine how the pictures can get better but somehow I know he'll bring it!  He truly does tell stories through his photography and I am so excited for him to tell ours.  Now let's get to the pics!

116 Days

So forget the 100 or 30 days to go  panic attack - mine was last night with 116 more days to go til our wedding!  Of course one side of me is saying yessss I can't wait!  and then there's the other side where I'm like o crap there's a lot to do.  So today I'll be living up this motto and making a full DIY to to list for the wedding. 



and if that doesn't work - I'll just go find one of these to calm me down

Weekend Recap - Girl just wanna have fun!

And boy did we! My weekend in Aspen could not have been better.  The weather was amazing and the town is just beautiful.  My sister and friends put together an amazing weekend - I feel so incredibly lucky to have such a great group for my wedding party.  Here are some highlights from the weekend!

Weekend's here!

TTIT or really my Friday since my weekend starts tonight!  Tomorrow I head off to Aspen with 7 of my closest girlfriends and the best wedding party a girl could ask for!  I've never been and cannot wait to be in this gorgeous place -

  I am so excited and very distracted here at work.  Almost everything is a surprise that I have left up to my sister who is my MOH - I cannot wait/a wee nervous to see what she has planned!  The only thing I know we'll be doing is a bit of this:

I will be the one in the front screaming/laughing uncontrollably

I of course have no outfits planned yet and will most likely be running around trying to put something together tonight but at least I treated myself to a fitting bachelorette mani last night:

I'm seeing this new trend more and decided to try it out for this weekend - have to say it is quite fun!

I most likely will not be posting tomorrow, so I wish everyone a wonderful weekend.  I'll leave you off with a pretty little picture of Central Park on my walk to work this morning.  After 3 days of yucky rainy weather it was perfect this morning.

Laundry Heaven

With the construction of my parent's new house finishing up it's now getting into the interior design scheme.  Of course my mom would not let me have any say over many things - but she did give me...the LAUNDRY ROOM.  Jackpot - but actually really I'm psyched no lie.  Right now I have to drag my laundry down to our building basement and pay close to $6 for one load - needless to say I HATE doing laundry.  A laundry room haven is a must for DSG’s and my future home (looking like 3+ years down the road of course).  You can really be creative and turn a laundry room into a beautiful extension of any home.  I mean I WANT to do laundry in these pretty spaces:
